  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease & flour an 8-inch square pan.
  • Melt butter and chocolate in double boiler; let mixture cool.
  • Cream sugar and eggs with mixer on low speed. Add flour, vanilla, salt and spices.
  • Add butter and chocolate, and mix in until everything is mushed together. Careful not to over beat. If using, stir in nuts.
  • Pour evenly into pan and bake 25-30 minutes. Tester should come out clean when done. Let cool, cut, scarf down!
