  • 1. Place the quinoa in a fine mesh sieve and run under a stream of cool tap water. Swirl the quinoa with your hand so each piece is rinsed.
  • 2. Place the water, olive oil, and salt, in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir in the quinoa and return to a boil. When the water boils, cover the saucepan and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until most of the water is cooked off.
  • 3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it stand, covered, for 10 minutes. The steam will further cook the quinoa and absorb the remaining water. Fluff the quinoa with a fork and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • 4. Cooked quinoa will keep for up to 5 days in the refrigerator or for 1 month in the freezer.
