Orange Vanilla Pizzelles

"This was given to me by a friend many years ago and it is the only recipe that I like.....I have tried dozens of pizzelle recipes over the years and always return to this one. My family does not like anise flavoring and this recipe always gets rave reviews because they are a different flavor.I hope that you will try it, you'll love them! I always dust them lightly with powdered sugar for an extra special treat. My pizzelle iron is made by Palmer Manufacturing and it is the absolute best iron in the NEVER make a bad cookie, everyone comes out perfect. I also use a very small ice cream scoop to portion my batter."

I made these as written and they weren't very good. I tried to roll them like I do my other recipes and they just fell apart. They didn't spread on the plates like they should and the flavor was very mild for all the extract that went into them. A waste of my time and ingredients.

These were amazing! I made 2 kinds this year and this recipe put the other one to shame. It's a keeper!
This is by far the best pizezelle recipe I have used, including the ones from Food Network. They are easy to make and taste wonderful. I use a small ice cream scoop (the same one I use for cookies) to put the batter on the plates and the size is just right. I bake them for only about 15 seconds as I like them light. They would be great with ice cream.
