    apples (I prefer Granny Smith)

    cup sugar

    teaspoon cinnamon
  • 12
    cup pecans, Chopped (I like mine coarsely chopped)
  • BATTER
  • 2
    eggs, well beaten
  • 1 12
    cups sugar
  • 1 12
    cups flour
  • 34
    cup shortening (I prefer the butter flavored type)
  • 34
    cup butter, Softened

DIRECTIONS

  • FILLING:.
  • Peel, core & thinly slice the apples. Place in a pie pan or baking pan. (I spray my pan with oil spray before filling however it may not be necessary.)
  • Mix together the sugar and cinnamon then sprinkle over the sliced apples.
  • Next sprinkle on the chopped pecans.
  • BATTER:.
  • Mix together the eggs, 1 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cup flour, 3/4 cup shortening and the 3/4 cup butter. Batter will be thick.
  • Spread on top of filling.
  • Bake at 300 until crust crisps approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
