  • Melt butter and sautee mushrooms, onion, carrots, and garlic. cook until tender.
  • in large kettle put broth, veggies, rice, and seasoning packet.
  • simmer 1 hour.
  • stir in wine.
  • blend water and flour and stir into soup.
  • heat to boiling.
  • stir in cream.
  • serve and enjoy!

  1. So.... I got to the point where you add the Uncle Ben's and discovered I was out(!?!) I had some Trader Joe's Basmati rice blend, added 1 c. of that, 1 t. seasoned salt and assorted herbs. I only used 1 1/2 T. butter and approximately 1/2 c. cream. Really liked the taste and simplicity. Even "slimmed down" it was rich and filling.
     
  2. Holy Moly, this was delicious! I altered it just a bit by using half the butter (1/4 cup), omitting the carrots, and adding three cloves of garlic. The result could not have been more awesomely tasty.
