ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 cups self rising flour
- 1⁄2 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons flax seed meal
- 1⁄4 cup canola oil
- 3⁄4 cup buttermilk
- 1⁄2 cup milk
directions
- Combine all dry ingredients. Then mix in Buttermilk, Canola Oil and Milk. Flour your work surface, then knead. Don't over knead the biscuits won't rise as much. Cook in oven at 450 degrees for 9-12 minutes.

These are great! They're not rich like regular biscuits but are still really great. I used olive oil because I didn't have any other oil on hand and soy milk, and that worked fine. I mixed it all on slow in my mixer and then folded it all together on a well floured surface about 10 times. It was still pretty moist inside, but the biscuits came out well risen and moist, so I think the amounts were pretty spot on.
