This was fantastic. I was searching for a copycat of a hamburger helper beef stroganoff recipe and found this. Made a few changes. I sauteed some mushrooms with the onions and meat. I omitted the sour cream and flour mixture. Used 3 lbs ground Turkey. Added farfalle pasta during last 15 minutes of simmer Omitted ketchup. Added 4 cups beef broth. .

A very nice family meal...the husband and kids enjoyed it. I used very lean ground beef. I'd recommend using the leanest possible, or draining the beef after browning it, (then adding the spices) to avoid greasiness. I added in some chopped green bell pepper. I used reduced-fat sour cream, and it was still a great consistancy. I think some thyme would be good in this also. We'll eat this again; thanx for sharing.
