Mom's Apple Crunch

"I've been making this recipe for over 20 years! The autumn season just wouldn't be the same without it. A generous scoop of this dessert with vanilla ice cream on top is a heavenly delight. Peaches can used instead of apples. Either way, a favorite with our family."

 1. I can't imagine a better apple crisp/crumble recipe! I've made it exactly as called for a few times and it's always wonderful! However I did make a few modifications this past time that I thought I'd share. I added 10-15 caramels and a sprinkle of nutmeg to the apple mixture to make it a carmel apple crunch - yum! I also used about 1/2 wheat flour and 1/2 white flour for the crumble topping. I received numerous compliments on it! Thanks for sharing this tasty recipe:)

 2. Loved this recipe. My parents and husband really enoyed it too. I diced 4 gala and one sonya apple (I ran out of gala). I also substituted splenda for the sugar in the apple mix. I baked in small ramikens for easy individual servings. Thanks so much for sharing!

 3. I made this to take to my parent's house for dessert one Sunday. My dad was excited about the apples but I wanted peaches so I made a half order of Peach Crunch as well as the Apple. They actually liked the peaches better. I used a bag of thawed Frozen Peaches instead of apples. I told her I would like to try frozen mixed berries and she asked me to keep that in mind for Easter. Thanks so much for this recipe I will be passing along!

Hi! I'm very fortunate to be married to my best friend! My husband and I own our own business, and I work there 3-4 days a week. We have 4 children, a girl and three boys...all out of the nest. Our daughter is Nolan'sMom here at Zaar. We are so blessed to have two little grandsons; Nolan and Blake, and two little grandaughters; Evangeline and Willow. Our daughter-in-law is run for your life here at zaar. Us girls all enjoy trying out recipes and sharing the results when we're all together! Some of my hobbies are jogging, biking, areobics, reading, and of course trying out new recipes on Zaar. My DH and I love to go out on dates to our favorite resturant, or just go out for coffee. I just recently got a new digital camera, and am trying to figure out how to take good pictures of the food I make. It's more complicated that I thought it would be!
