- 1 cup mincemeat
- 1 cup chopped apple
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1⁄8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup shortening
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1⁄4 cup milk
directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix together the mincemeat, apples, 2 tablespoons sugar, nutmeg& melted butter.
- Blend together and spread on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Sift the flour, baking powder, salt& 1 tablespoon sugar.
- Cut in the shortening.
- Add the milk and beaten egg.
- Mix and spread over the first mixture.
- Bake 30 minutes.
- Serve hot with cream.

JUST LOVE MINCEMEAT, & this cobbler fits right in there! Used a Granny Smith apple & unsalted butter (along with everything else, of course!), then put it all in a 9"x9" baking pan! I did add just a pinch of nutmeg to the pastry topping, & the cobbler was wonderful! I look forward to making it again during the winter holidays! Thanks for sharing!
