Microwave Tortilla Chips

"Chips may be a misnomer for this recipe. This is an easy way to crisp your corn tortillas and you get better results than in a conventional oven. Crispy tortillas are desirable for tostadas or chips."

Reviews

  1. Wanted to learn how to make flour tortilla chips with the microwave. Sampled some recommendations and found that with my very powerful microwave I could oil one side, cut into 8ths and cook on "Hi" 1 minute. Then turn them over and 35 seconds on the 2nd side to get crispy chips w/o burn spots! They worked very well with the refried beans + sweet corn and Italian seasoned canned tomatoes, dip I'd invented the other day!

Tweaks

  1. Brushed one side of flour tortilla with EVOO, cut into 8ths. Micro @ "Hi" 1 minute. Removed & turned them over and Micro'd @ "Hi" another 35 seconds to avoid burning parts of the chips.
