Mexi-Burgers

"This is a good change of pace burger. It's a quick meal and real good. According to how big you make them, they will make 4 to 6 burgers."

I had trouble keeping these together with all the fresh veggies. I minced the garlic since crushed didn't seem to make much sense (maybe the author meant pressed?). I liked the flavor, but they were quite spicy and I know my hubbie wouldn't eat them.

My family loves these burgers! I followed the recipe exactly except for omitting the hot sauce because I thought my kids would think they were too spicy. I'll probably make these again and again.

We really enjoyed these burgers. Nice change from the normal every day variety. Lots of good flavour - not overpowering but definitely with a Mexican flair. Will definitely be having again. I Cooked these on the grill and melted Jalapeno Havarti cheese on top and added a skiff of mustard on the buns. Used canned jalapeno peppers instead of canned green chili's by accident but a happy accident.

This is going to sound like a really weird review for this recipe! What happened was I was only going to make one burger and thought I was defrosting a patty of ground round but when I went to make the burger I discovered it was, in fact, a small steak - So I chopped the steak in small pieces and proceeded with this recipe. The end result was a SUPER burger. I followed your recipe putting all the spices, hot sauce and minced Jalapeno pepper in with the chopped steak and browned it over high heat for apprx 5 minutes. The meat was still a touch pink, very moist and loaded with flavor. I put a slice of sweet onion, lettuce & tomato on the burger. I hope you will forgive my liberty with your recipe - It was very delicious thanks Darlene for posting

This was good, but I forgot to add salt! I added some 3/4 cup of oats and 1 egg to the mix to it seem like there was more meat. I also used 1 bell pepper and 1 jalapeno and I didn't think it was spicy at all. I think adding oats lowers the spicyness a lot, but if you do it that way consider adding a tad more chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper. Thanks
