Low-Sugar Apple Turnover

ingredients
- 4 Granny Smith apples
- 1 quart water
- 1 lemon, juice of
- 1⁄4 cup honey
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 dash vanilla bean
- 1 dash salt
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 sheets phyllo dough
- 1 egg, for wash
- 1 tablespoon sugar, for sprinkle
directions
- Apples, core & peel. Cut to 1/4” size.
- apples in lemon water.
- drain apples.
- sauté apples in butter.
- season with cinnamon & vanilla.
- add honey.
- saute till soft.
- place Apple in fridge to cool.
- cut phyllo sheets into quarters.
- stuff with 2 tablespoons of filling, fold, fork press.
- egg wash.
- sprinkle sugar.
- bake 2 minutes at 400.
