  1. Here is an excellent optional recipe: Use Ground turkey instead of ground beef to lower fat content. Mix cream of mushroom, browned turkey, 1/2 bag of frozen mixed veggies, 3 tablespoons of sourcream, 2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce, Janes Crazy salt (or salt), pepper all into a large a sauce pan. Cook for ~ 5 minutes until all is very hot. Stir often. Pour into caserole dish. Layer on top of mix with low fat/non fat Colby jack (or mozarella for stretchy kid fun). Layer frozen tater tots on top of cheese. Bake at 375 for 1 hour (or until Tater tots are golden brown). My kids love it! You can also add BBQ sauce if your kids like that.

  2. I really enjoy this easy dish.. I come home on lunch and set it up go back to work and have a great meal that's easy.. Leftovers are a treat also. Tip add a little can of chopped green chili's in with the beef adds a nice bite.

  3. I make this recipe all the time and bake it in the oven. When I was put on 2nd shift, I scrambled to find crockpot recipes so that I could have a hot meal for my husband and son when they got home in the evenings. I was glad to find a crockpot adaptation to an old favorite! This got rave reviews too! The only changes I made was I used 1 medium chopped onion instead of the dried onion and I had them sprinkle shredded cheddar on it a few minutes before they ate it! Great recipe and thanks for posting!!!

  4. my family loves tater tot casserole, and I had never made it in the crockpot before. Well, i wanted dinner done when we came home from running errands and this was perfect. The only difference is that I used two cans of soup, because that's how i make it in the oven. Thanks!

  5. It was very dry. If you make this, add more cream of mushroom soup. It actually tasted better after with ketchup, because of the dryness. I don't think I will make this again.
