- Ready In:
- 1⁄2 - 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses
- cayenne pepper, to taste
- Heat water, but do not boil. Add lemon juice, olive oil, molasses and a dash of cayenne.
- Drink this mixture first thing in the morning for 10 days continuously.

I just started this today so I'm not going to rate it just yet, but I thought I would update after I finished. The taste isn't terrible. It isn't necessarily something I would say I enjoy, but it's not bad at all. I have an issue with the way things smell and this does have a different sort of scent (in my opinion, from the molasses I believe) so I drink it out of a mug that has a lid with a straw. This cuts back on the scent. That may seem silly but it helps! I'll update after a few days! UPDATE: I unfortunately didn't notice HUGE results as I was expecting. Perhaps I should try the recipe a bit longer & stick to a more strict raw foods diet as I was reading that one should do when detoxing. I do want to try this again since the other reviewers had such positive results.1Reply
I am on my 8th day using date molasses having this each morning on an empty stomach as per, http://www.squidoo.com/herballiver-detox. The taste is kind of good actually. I do feel it may be helping with elimination yet I do recipe#422807 when I wake up and that definitely does. I feel I can't rate this correctly as I don't know how the blackstrap molasses would differ. As is with date molasses I give this 4 stars. I was doing recipe#61610 after my oil pulling each morning and I feel it greatly improves my skin, has a great taste and also is much easier and cheaper to put together than how I make this. I have been using unrefined extra virgin olive oil (healthy, expensive), freshly squeezed lemon juice, and the rest. I may try this with blackstrap molasses if I can get some! I can't actually rate this because unfortunately I couldn't get past the taste. I'm sure that this is super beneficial, and I see that other reviewers have actually enjoyed the taste, but I just could not force myself to drink more than half the glass.
