Try frying in shortening instead of oil. The first time I made these I used oil. Second time I used shortening. The second time the doughnuts were so light and perfect and not oiled down. Very good

These were incredible and I can't believe I can make this at home! They taste exactly like the store brand. It is my favorite recipe of all time. My husband said he would marry me again for these. Thanks for the recipe!

If you are up here in the middle of nowhere in Northern Michigan where you can't buy a Krispy Kreme to save your soul, these ARE a fantastic substitute, according to my husband, an avid Krispy Kreme fan! We just made our first batch and he had spoiled his dinner "sampling" the donut holes!

These were not anything like Krispy Kreme doughnuts. More like a waste of both time and money because they are not worth the trouble. These were much too much of a cake-like doughnut to be like a Krispy Kreme doughnut. Maybe more like a Dunkin' Doughnut doughnut, but I don't know as I am not at all a fan of cake doughnuts.
