Knoth's Barbeque Sauce

1 gallon
ingredients
- 4 cups sugar
- 2 1⁄2 cups catsup
- 1 pint mustard
- 2 teaspoons red peppers, ground
- 3 teaspoons black pepper
- 1⁄2 pint water
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1⁄2 cup Crisco
- 1⁄2 lb butter
- vinegar
- 1⁄4 pint cornstarch
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
directions
- Combine 4 cups sugar, catsup, mustard, red pepper, black pepper, water, salt, Crisco, butter and enough vinegar to make 1 gallon.
- Mix well, cook slowly for one hour, stirring while cooking.
- Add corn starch.
- Add 1/2 cup sugar at last.
