Kansas City Smokehouse Beans

"Kansas City is famous for their BBQ and the Smokehouse Restaurant is a popular place to go. My sister-in-law has a recipe for beans that she calls "Smokehouse Beans" that taste just like the restaurant beans. I make them for large gatherings or half the recipe for the family. Enjoy!"

  1. These beans are excellent, cook them in the oven or on the smoker, let them cook till almost all juice is gone. Fantastic the next day, hot or cold. To the people who are complaining about this is not a perfect replica because the recipe doesn't include burnt ends, just put them in yours. Thank-you for sharing. Love these.

  2. Yum! I used a hickory smoked barbecue sauce and we loved these beans. Thanks for sharing. Made for What's on the Menu tag.

  3. These were very good Barbequed Beans. I used "Mississippi Barbeque Sauce" brand in mine. I agree with the post that said the burnt ends are much better in it, but I was looking for something that tasted good; not necessarily the exact same taste. Thank you for the recipe.

  4. This bean casserole is excellent! I made this minus the bacon along with MarieAlice's Classic Roast Potatoes and these to sides were an awesome combination. I fed my family of 8 for two meals on this recipe and still had leftovers so I think this makes more like 16-18 servings. I will be adding this to my cookbook and making this again.

  5. I used this recipe for my first time ever to make baked beans.I live in Kansas City and have a smoke house just down the street from me. This was good and will make them again. but not as good as Smoke House. They put Burnt Ends in theirs.
