Japanese-Style Sesame Green Beans

- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 lb fresh green beans, washed
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
directions
- Warm a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- When the skillet is hot, pour in canola and sesame oils, then place whole green beans into the skillet.
- Stir the beans to coat with oil.
- Cook until the beans are bright green and slightly browned in spots, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in soy sauce, cover, and let sit about 5 minutes.
- Transfer to a serving platter, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

These fresh, Japanese style beans went down very well this morning (yes, for breakfast!). I really enjoy crunchy fresh beans so didn't over cook them. The soy sauce adds a nice touch but I adore the flavor of sesame oil in Asian cooking. Made for ZWT6 - Countries of Asia challenge (Japan). Thanks for posting!

This was a good recipe, but a little plain for a 5 star. I had higher hopes for this recipe, sorry.:( I really did like the brown/crisp beans (I used a combo of waxed and green). Thought it could use some garlic, or some kind of additional seasoning. I really love sesame oil, but it just needed something extra. Also made for ZWT 6.
