  • Cook beef, onion, green pepper and celery in a large frying pan until beef is browned and onion is clear.
  • Drain.
  • Break up large pieces of tomatoes.
  • Add tomatoes, tomato puree and seasonings to beef mixture.
  • Simmer 15 minutes to blend flavors.
  • Stir in macaroni and heat to serving temperature.

  2. This was sort of ordinary but I am sure little kids would gobble it up! Something was definitely missing. Sorry, we didn't care for it very much :(
     
  3. With the exception of the exact amounts, and the green peppers which I dislike :), this is the same as what I was brought up on and called American Chop Suey. It was served to us in school and my mother made it often b/c of it's frugality. Love it, but haven't had it for ages. Think I'll make some this week! Lee
     
  4. It was a nice easy dinner with fresh ingredients but blah tasting. I would make it again but would try to strengthen the flavors.
     
  5. This is wonderful. I was confused on the (1 oz. can) tomato puree, so used an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce. As a garlic lover I almost added some garlic, glad I didn't as this was a refreshing change from the regular garlic/cheese ground beef casseroles.
