  1. I made this for the basketball game Saturday afternoon. It was supposed to be a snack, but my husband and I ended up eating the whole pie pan full for lunch! I did make a few changes. I added some chopped white onion on top of the cream cheese, used hot & spicy chili, added some sliced jalepenos and sprinkled a little bit of cilantro on top. My husband, who doesn't like cream cheese really liked this! I tried this dip at a party with the Fritos Scoops before, but really like the tortilla chips much better.

  2. Made this tonight and it was delicious. I added a few candied jalepenos and the sweetness of those really took this recipe over the top!

  3. This stuff is super addicting! I couldn't stop eating it. Served it with fritos scoops and I topped it off with some scallions...honestly, for how easy it is, it's out of this world.

  4. This is a great crockpot recipe for potlucks n partys. Everyone loves it. My coworker made this one time and served it with tostitos scoop chips and it was amazing, i asked her for the recipe and she just adds the sams club big can of chili (no beans) but if it comes w beans thats ok just smash them up, then ad 2 packs of cream cheese. Place everything into the crockpot on low, and it about 2 hours its ready. Keep on warm. I have also made this for a nacho bar, I had nacho cheese in one crock pot, chili n cream cheese in one pot and serve with toppings like minced onions, cilantro, salsas gaucamole, pico de gallo, etc this makes for a great nacho bar :) Enjoy!

Tweaks

  1. MY wife does not cook in microwave she likes to put in oven at 400 and also ads sliced black olives on top. The cheese melts better and also the whole dish is hot not just the cheese it seems to all blend together.

  2. I added a sprinkle of taco seasoning and jalapenos on top Also baked in the oven at 400° Fahrenheit til the cheese melted nicely

  3. Add taco seasoning to taste to the cream chesse and blend well. Layer on the bottom of a quice dish, next cover with one can refried beans; next cover with one can hormel chili no beans; layer with chopped green onions then shreeded mexican 4 chesse. BAKE 350degrees for a half hour. DELISH!

  4. We use Hormel Chunky Chili with Beans. This year I want to use Queso Quesadilla shredded cheese instead of cheddar. Almost forgot we also mix a half cup of salsa into the chili before spreading it over the cream cheese. We've had this recipe so long I can't even remember where I found it.
