Horchata Smoothie
MAKE IT SHINE!

A Quick and Easy twist on Horchata (Mexican Rice Milk) and Smoothies. It makes a nice creamy drink that is perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat poured over ice on warm day. (I shortcut this recipe by using my recipe for vanilla yogurt. Also equally yummy adjusted fat free/sugar free)

Not quite horchata, but pretty close, and easier, as well. Sipping this now. I subbed unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and ice for half the water before whipping this up in the blender. Used Splenda rather than sugar, so I saved quite a few carbs all the way round. Thanks for sharing. Going to try a dollop of sugar free chocolate syrup next time, or maybe the almond extract another reviewer mentioned. A treat that doesn't spike my glucose levels is a real treat.Reply

Okay so this looks really good. I'm gonna go make it right now and I'll tell you my reaction. (MAKES SMOOTHIE) Reaction: YUMMM!! This is really good. I only made enough for one, and there was even a ton left. It is sweet. I added vanilla yogurt instead. I think next time I will add less sugar because its very sweet. Thanks sooo much for posting, will make again. :)Reply
