Honey Oats Cereal

This is a great recipe for home-made granola. Start early in the day, as it takes a couple hours to dry completely and get nice and crunchy. I like to drizzle the cereal with extra honey before I bake it to make some granola clusters...

ingredients
- 1 lb rolled oats
- 1 cup wheat germ
- 1 cup flax seed
- 1 cup almonds
- 1 cup cashews
- 1 cup raw sunflower seeds
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup honey
- 2⁄3 cup water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1⁄3 cup oil
- 3⁄4 lb raisins
- 1⁄2 lb shredded coconut
directions
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine dry ingredients. In a separate bowl combine remaining ingredients and pour over first. Mix well!
- Spread out on rimmed baking sheets and bake 15 minutes. Turn mixture over and repeat until cereal is almost day and nicely brown. Remove from oven and stir in raisins and coconut.
- Turn off oven and leave door ajar. Allow cereal to dry in warm oven for another 6-8 hours.
