Okay, my sauce tastes a little funky and is quite thick. Is this normal? I JUST REALIZED I FORGOT GINGER! Never mind, does not call for ginger. This is my first go around with cooking Japanese cuisine. I am a pretty good cook, the flavors are not shining through, yet. They just started marinating. I expect the flavors have to do there thing????
I made this recipe to use in recipe#150084 but I have leftover for other recipes. It smells really good. Even better than store-bought hoisin sauce. When I added the peanut butter, it was hard to mix. So I put it in the microwave for a good minute and then stirred. It was easier to mix. For the hot sauce, I used tabasco.
