  1. this baked wonderfully, and is a thick nutty bread, full in flavor. the hidden bran is a nice touch:) we used some to make grilled cheese on the forman grill, fantastic

  2. Has anyone tried to reduce the honey/molasses in this recipe? I need to get the sugar content below 5g!

  3. This was delicious. However...I didn't use bread flour and it was a small, extreme heavy loaf of bread. Also, I didn't have powdered milk so I used 1-1/2 c skim milk instead of water and powdered milk. I am definitely going to make this again BUT will go the extra mile and buy some bread flour or add a little gluten. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.UPDATE: After three more loaves with the same results, I finally made this by hand and added 2 Tbs gluten and it turned out perfect! There must be a problem with my bread maker. This was such a tasty bread, I just couldn't give up on it.

  4. I love this bread. I made it as directed with these modifications: all molasses instead of honey/molasses, added 4 teasoons gluten, and added 2 tablespoons milled flax seed. I baked it on the whole wheat cycle and put it into a ziplock bag to steam and soften the crust when it was done. What a treat! Thanks so much for a great recipe.

  5. Perfect. I made them into buns and it worked great:) I will be making these often. Thank you for another great recipe.
