So when I made this only using the oyster crackers a the Ranch seasoning mix an oil why does it have so much garlic taste. Like it’s so overpowering that I threw the whole batch out. But I remember these as a kid an my kids loved them an I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any suggestions or how to correct this. I really want to enjoy this snack again but can’t with that much garlic taste. Thanks In advance!!!

This is a classic: easy and addictive. I do substitute butter-flavored popcorn popping oil (Orville Redenbacher brand, but there are others) for the salad oil, and use about 1/3 C of oil to a 12-ounce package of generic brand oyster crackers. Otherwise, no changes (oh, okay, I don't actually measure the dill, lemon pepper, and garlic powder, and may go a bit overboard on all three of them). Simply delicious!

I made this per the directions above and it was terrible! Nothing like the great snack we used to enjoy. After throwing the whole batch away, I realized you need to use butter instead of oil. Especially if you are using it to make the oyster crackers. I made a second batch, with butter, and it was delicious.
