- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 2⁄3 cup onion
- 1 jalapeno pepper, diced
- 1⁄2 cup green pepper, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup red pepper, chopped
- 1 (15 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt substitute
- 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
directions
- Remove seeds from jalapeno peppers and dice. Dice onion and bell peppers. Sauté onion, jalapenos and green pepper in EVO then set aside.
- Cook ground turkey crumbling into little pieces. Drain and return to pan. Add pepper and onion mixture you set aside.
- Over med-high heat add all of the remaining ingredients into the pan. Stir mixture and bring to a slight boil. Lower heat, cover and simmer on low for 5-10 min to fuse flavors.
- Serve on either sesame rolls or hamburger buns and top with low fat shredded cheddar.
- If you like it hot, throw in 1 more jalepeno pepper.
