Healthy Slow-Cooker Turkey Chili

  • Heat 1 tablespoons oil in a sauté pan. Sauté onions, peppers and garlic until soft, and slightly browned (about 3-5 minutes). Put into crock pot.
  • Heat remaining oil in the same pan and brown ground turkey until fully cooked (about 7 minutes).
  • While the ground turkey is browning, drain and rinse all of the canned beans and add to the crock pot.
  • When the ground turkey has finished browning, drain and add to the crock pot.
  • Add all of the remaining ingredients to the crock pot and stir well until thoroughly combined.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 - 8 hours (4 hours on high, if you are in a hurry).
  • Top with 2 tablespoons of shredded Mexican cheese (OPTIONAL) and serve.
