  1. Great dish. I did make it on top of the stove as I don't generally use my crock pot because I'm gone from home longer than 10 hours a day during the work week. Other than cooking it on top of the stove the other change that I made was to use onions instead of mushrooms (I'm allergic to them). Served over noodles with green beans. Thanks for posting this Bec! Made for Healthy Choices ABC Tag.

  2. This recipe goes back to the 70's...I know because my Mum used to make it when I was growing up! I had a hankering for it this week and wondered if I could find a recipe! Thanks Bec! Loved it!

  3. This would have been a good recipe if the yogurt/flour combo was left out. I followed the recipe and got a gross broken sauce that tasted like flour. I would skip that step, and mix in a big spoonful of sour cream before serving.

  4. Sorry that I could not give more stars. I appreciate the attempt at making a healthy recipe but this technique just didn't work for me. I did change a few things, but they were not things that would have changed the outcome. I used 1 pound of steak cut into strips. It seemed plenty and I kept all the other sauce ratio the same and there was plenty of meat. (2 lbs of ground beef would certainly make it meaty!) The things that didn't work: 1) the tomato paste. My family never added it to stroganoff and I didn't think I would like it. I was right. Others may be used to it this way and may like this recipe. I found however, that the yogurt did not end up smooth. Mine was lowfat and it was somewhat grainy. I think I will keep looking for a recipe that works better for my family. I'm definitely going to avoid tomato products and not add the cream/yogurt until the last few minutes of cooking.

  5. I did not like this recipe at all. I didn't even finish cooking it. I just through it out... along with the 15 dollars it took to make it.
