Healthy Chicken/Turkey Burgers

"I make these and double the recipe. I wrap each burger and lay on a cookie sheet till frozen then bag, they keep in the freezer about 3 months. It's a great recipe for when ground chicken or turkey is on sale."

  1. Wow, this was one of the best turkey burgers I have tasted! I used 7% fat ground turkey, Panko breadcrumbs, 4 tsp. dried parsley flakes, about 1/2 tsp. salt and several cranks of fresh ground pepper. The patties were VERY soft, as one reviwer said (probably because of the applesauce), but they still stayed together, so I rolled with it. ;) Plus, the applesauce really helped them to be so moist and flavorful. Five minutes per side was perfect for me, on my stovetop grill pan. I put these on Recipe #366717, and served them with Recipe #192535. Thanks for a keeper!

  2. Wow I realized you posted the recipe nine years ago. The store was out of chicken burgers so I bought ground chicken instead. Looked on the Food website at probably 50 recipes and yours stood out. Made at written and cooked them on the grill. The outside was a little crispy and the inside was nice and juicy. Perfect! So healthy and had great flavor. Put lettuce tomato and BBQ sauce on them. I am never buying chicken burgers again, I will make my own!

  4. I have been craving turkey burgers, so last weekend I decided to sample a couple new recipes. This was good and very healthy! I like the incorporation of applesauce.

  5. Um......YUM!! I was a little confused at first because of the ingrediants but it did sound different and that is what I was going for. We grilled them and didn't even use a bun and my hubby and I were dumbfounded on how great these are! We are making them again tonight and will be making these a lot in the future. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

  2. I made these for dinner tonight -- really yummy. I used a tablespoon of fresh thyme instead of the parsley and only had Italian breadcrumbs. The applesauce and chicken together is sooo good. Made them on the George Foreman and they held together great. Enjoy!
