This is a marinate and not a sauce. I wanted to learn how to make BBQ Sauce and followed this recipe but ended up with marinate. In order for me to make BBQ sauce I had to heat up the ingredients and add corn starch to thicken it up. On top of these base ingredients I added Coffee, Sugar Cane Sugar, Garlic Cloves, Sesame Seed Oil, Sesame Seeds, Mango Juice, and a little Thai Chili Pepper Sauce. Mahalo for the base ingredients to get me going to where I am now with my very own Hawaiian BBQ sauce.

What a great change from "red" barbecue sauce. the sauce was sweet, but not too sweet and really had a great flavor. I used drumsticks. Be careful when grilling, the sauce really causes flare-ups. Thanks for posting!
