Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps

"This easy one pot meal is hard to mess up. I use Iceberg lettuce but you can use your favorite. If you don’t care for sesame oil, you can substitute with Kikkoman Mirin Style Sweet Cooking Seasoning. It has a different flavor but it works out well. Also, fresh ginger may be used in place of the pickled ginger. Just thought I'd mention that the chili sauce is hot. You may want to start with less and add to your taste. The total prep/cooking time is around 30 minutes...I was prepping as I was cooking (adding to the pan as I went along."

 • To serve, allow each person to spoon 2 portions of meat onto a lettuce leaf … wrapping the lettuce around the mixture like a burrito.

 1. This was SO GOOD!! Even though I know the pickled ginger would have been delicious, I didn't have it, so I just grated in some fresh ginger. Also I did not have the water chestnuts, and probably wouldn't have used them even if I did, because my daughter hates them. Served up over a little rice, and topped with julienned carrots and radishes. Yummy stuff!!

Aloha! I just recently started spending more time in the kitchen and am learning that cooking and baking can be fun as well as challenging. My favorite cookbook resources are my 'gourmet' sister and the very patient and generous Ohana of Zaar. Mahalo nui loa!

My rating system: The first time I try a recipe, I follow the instructions as given; if I do a little tweaking, I keep that in mind when rating. It's not right to rate lower because of something I did or didn't do.
***** ... Excellent! Tasted great with/without tweaking.
**** ... Loved It! Tasted great with/without tweaking.
No stars ... May be an excellent recipe but I was unable to get it to work for me. May or may not try again later. We don't all have the same taste preferences. I've found recipes with lots of five stars that just didn't work for me and some with less that I thought were great.
Thank you All for sharing!
