Ground Beef and Sauce --- 3 Ingredients

"This is one of my favorite quick meals. I call it a comfort food. It is for one of those days when you get home late and still have to put something on the table that tastes yummy. I think it is best served with creamy mashed potatoes and a simple vegetable like peas or corn. Of course, it never hurts to add a salad to any meal! Try it, I think you will like it."

directions

  • Brown the ground beef. (I don't use any oil).
  • Chop onion and add to the ground beef. Cook until the onion becomes nearly clear.
  • Add salt and pepper (and minced garlic if you desire) while the onion is cooking.
  • Pour in the can of soup and 1/2 can of water. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • Enjoy!

Questions & Replies

  1. It says in the instructions "Brown the ground beef" I'm new to cooking so I don't understand that term, can someone explain please. (NVM, I looked it up)

  1. My dad used to make this for us kids except he used vegetable soup and served with mashed potatoes.

  2. Simple, homey and good. I made this using plain tomato soup. It reminds my of something my mom used to make, but she added celery and green pepper. I thought it needed just a little pick-up, so I added garlic and a little Worcestershire sauce. Yes, I served it over creamy mashed potatoes and everyone was very happy. I'll make this easy meal again..... with my mentioned additions. Thanx!

  3. Loved this recipe! So easy. I served it over mashed potatoes and we all enjoyed it.

  4. nice

  5. I tweaked the recipe a bit. Onion garlic powder, 6 or 7 shakes of the seasoning salt, lots of pepper. Omg it is so delicious! Bookmarked for future because I'll definitely make again.
