  1. Inez this is a great recipe for a picnic. So simple to make Just enough spice to make you tastebuds say WOW!!! We all loved it. Instead of using drumsticks we used chicken breasts. My family only eats white meat ; ) I grilled them for about 45 to 50 minutes. This was delicious! Thanks so much Inez ; )

  2. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use 8 chicken drumsticks or whole chicken legs. I happened to have a package of five chicken legs, so I used these. I marinated for a couple hours and then grilled over low heat (any higher and they caught on fire.) They looked and smelled scrumptious and we could not wait to eat them. I finally moved the chicken over to indirect heat so it would not burn but cook through and closed the lid on them for an hour. After cooking this way, they should have been done, but...they were raw inside! So....I ended up puttiong them in the oven for an hour and we finally got to eat them! They were very good, with just the right amount of spice and everyone who had the patience to wait for them loved them! I think next time, I will definitely use just drumsticks instead of the whole leg. Thanks for sprucing up our usually bland chicken on the grill!

  3. This was an excellent recipe! It was quick and easy to make. We used cider in our marinade. The flavor was slightly sweet with a Middle Eastern character. I highly recommend sqeezing lemon wedges over the meat as it is served. This brings out the flavor to its fullest. Great job, Inez!

  4. These were very enjoyable. My friends liked them too. It was so easy to throw this together. I ended up marinating for 24 hrs and they turned out fine. I served with potatoe salad, bbq beans, garlic bread and green salad. I have another pack of legs so I get to enjoy this recipe again soon!

  5. Okay, I didn't actually eat these, 'cause I don't care for dark meat chicken. But I did prepare them for BF and our neighbors, and they all loved them. They raved about them. I ended up smoking them for about an hour and a half, and instead of basting with the marinade I used our favorite bottled sauce. The neighbor just had to have the recipe, you sure made me look good, thanks for a great recipe.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
