    slices bacon, cooked
  • 1
    pear, thinly sliced (Bartlett or Bosc)
  • 2 -3
    slices sharp cheddar cheese, sliced (may use white cheddar)
  • 1
    tablespoon butter, for spreading

DIRECTIONS

  • Butter one side of each piece of bread.
  • Spray a pan with cooking spray; heat pan.
  • Place two pieces of the bread in the pan, butter side down, and top with cheese (1 to 1.5 slices), two slices of cooked bacon, and a few pear slices.
  • Grill over medium heat until bread is nicely browned and flip. Continue to grill until other side is browned and cheese is melted.
  • Cut each sandwich diagonally for that classic grilled cheese look and serve while hot and toasty.
