Green Beans

This recipe came from a good friend who learned it from her grandmother. The sugar in the green beans give it a good flavor.

Loved these green beans!!! I didn't drain any of the liquid from the can because I knew I was going to be simmering them for a while longer than the 15 minutes while I prepared the rest of the meal. I didn't have any bacon grease... so I just browned up 2 slice of bacon along with just a touch of olive oil... and only added in about 1 tsp of sugar because I knew it was going to be too sweet for our tastes from reading other reviews. I left out the salt since my green beans were not the "no salt" variety. I think I let them simmer for almost 35 minutes and they were just delicious! Thanks for another great way to prepare one of our favorite veggies!!!Reply
