  • 1 12 lbs chuck steaks
  • 14 cup salad oil
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 18 teaspoon clove (optional)
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can tomato soup
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 14 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups noodles, uncooked
  • 12 cup parmesan cheese

directions

  • Cut meat into small pieces and brown in oil.
  • Remove meat and saute onion until golden. Stir in flour, soup, water, lemon juice and seasonings.
  • Return meat to skillet and simmer covered until meat is tender, about 1 hour.
  • Cook noodles; drain and mix with cheese.
  • Put noodles on a heated platter and spread the meat mixture over the top.

  2. This is an excellent, meaty dish. It was both richer and more complex than I expected it to be. The flavors blend very well. Adding the cheese to the noodles before topping with sauce was the perfect touch. Thanks for posting!
     
  3. A very interesting and yes, tasty recipe. I did only use half the amount of cinnamon and so glad of that. It is very interesting to taste the sauce as it simmers. When I first tasted it I didn't think I would like it at all. The next taste test something quite magical had happened and everything melded together. I really could no longer pick out the individual flavours, certainly not the tomato soup. I corrected with a little more salt and pepper and let it simmer awhile longer. My husband and son really liked the flavour and richness of it. I felt the sauce could have been thinned a bit. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Made for ZWT -- X-tra Hot Dishes.
