DIRECTIONS

  • In a large pan (I use my Dutch oven) over med heat combine the sauce ingredients and mix well.
  • Heat to a boil, stirring freq.
  • Remove from heat and set aside momentarily. If you can keep an eye on the sauce you can stir the dumplings up while it comes to a boil. Just don’t let the sauce burn. Ask me how I know. LOL.
  • Stir dumpling ingredients together in a med bowl until well combined. I do it by hand but you could use a mixer if desired. Beat for 1 minute.
  • Return the sauce to the stovetop and heat to a gentle boil.
  • Drop the dumplings into the sauce. I use a big spoonful for each one. Makes six dumplings.
  • Cover and simmer gently for 20 minute Only check once to make sure dumplings aren’t sticking to the bottom of the pan and to make sure it’s staying at a simmer.
  • Hint: you can sub coffee for the water in the sauce. A 1/2 teaspoons Of cinnamon is good too.
