In a large pan (I use my Dutch oven) over med heat combine the sauce ingredients and mix well.
Heat to a boil, stirring freq.
Remove from heat and set aside momentarily. If you can keep an eye on the sauce you can stir the dumplings up while it comes to a boil. Just don’t let the sauce burn. Ask me how I know. LOL.
Stir dumpling ingredients together in a med bowl until well combined. I do it by hand but you could use a mixer if desired. Beat for 1 minute.
Return the sauce to the stovetop and heat to a gentle boil.
Drop the dumplings into the sauce. I use a big spoonful for each one. Makes six dumplings.
Cover and simmer gently for 20 minute Only check once to make sure dumplings aren’t sticking to the bottom of the pan and to make sure it’s staying at a simmer.
Hint: you can sub coffee for the water in the sauce. A 1/2 teaspoons Of cinnamon is good too.
