  • Combine brown sugar, milk, and butter; bring to a full boil and cook for exactly 2 minutes. Remove from heat; add baking powder and vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread.

  1. The recipe doesn't say if you should stir while it is boiling? Also, should it be beaten by hand or mixer afterward? I'm not sure if I did something wrong. The frosting is very tasty but grainy.

  1. This was a wonderful icing! It was a snap to make and thickened right up. The only change I made was to use evaporated milk instead of regular milk, since I only had 1%. I will definitely be making this again soon.
     
  2. Once you get it melted and it starts boiling do not do a lot of stirring. It makes it grainy.
