Good Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

"Many requests for this recipe; and it's so easy. It was served at my baby shower 2 years ago and that old ordinary tossed salad is still raved about."

ingredients

• 1 (5/8 ounce) package Good Seasonings Italian salad dressing mix
• balsamic vinegar
• cider vinegar
• oil
• water
• Good Seasons dressing cruet

directions

1. Follow the directions instructed on the back of the dry dressing mix package with the following adjustment: Instead of adding all regular vinegar to the "V" line on the cruet, add 1/2 cider vinegar and 1/2 balsamic vinegar.
2. Tastes great on greens!
3. I think it tastes it's best at room temp; so it would probably last that way for a few days; after then if it's not used, throw it in the fridge.

this is an awesome dressing i added a little brown sugar a touch of honey and an pinch of celery seed that made this salad dressing totally the best balsamic vinaigrette i have ever had

This is a very good basic recipe. I have been making it like this for a while now and decided one day to spice it up a bit. I added approx. two tsps of sugar and a tbls or so of good dijon mustard. This recipe has now become my favorite salad dressing. My picky kids now request it for every salad we have. Also great as a marinade for chicken breasts on the grill.

Good change from the original dressing packet recipe. We liked the 2 different vinegars.

Very good. I ran out of Newman's Own Balsamic vinaigrette and was in a pinch. This fit the bill. Thanks for posting dancing Chef.
