ingredients
- 4 godiva solid dark chocolate bars (3.5 oz each)
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- Heat heavy cream in a saucepan over low-medium heat until hot but not simmering.
- Add chocolate and stir until melted.
- Add vanilla and stir.
- Transfer to fondue pot and serve with fresh fruit and pound cake.
- Substitute vanilla with orange liqueur, kirsh or framboise for extra flare.

Texture, stickiness and taste were great. I used the equivalent weight of Nestle Dark Chocolate Chips in place of Godiva. We dipped marshmallows, strawberries, M & M cookies and the favorite was bananas. Thanks for the recipe. -
This delicious chocolate fondue was a bit of an investment - but you pay for the really good things in life! Served with chunks of sponge-cake, banana and strawberries. My family adores me.LOL -
Wonderful chocolate fondue!. All of my guests and I loved it. I placed the fondue pot with the chocolate and cream in a hot water bath on the stove to melt and mix the ingredients. It worked perfectly. Thank you for sharing. Made for PAC Spring 2011 -
This chocolate dip was made for expected company this evening, & hopefully there'll still be some left after they get here! I looked up on-line that the standard Godiva dark chocolate bar is 1.5 ounces, so we are talking 6 ounces total. The Godiva dark chocolate I could find was 72% cacao in 3.5 oz. bars (good thing I checked on line). I too heated the cream in the microwave, added the chocolate, heated a bit more and stirred with the vanilla until smooth. I This was dark chocolate nirvana, eaten with freshly picked strawberries.
