Glady's Spanish Rice

"A childhood favorite dish of my husband's. It's always a treat to him when I make this and it's really easy!! You can add green peppers and more seasonings if you'd like - the recipe is the way my mother in law made it for my husband and I tend to make it this way as well."

directions

  • brown ground beef and onion together, drain.
  • add chili powder, rice and undrained can of tomatoes.
  • simmer, covered until rice is cooked through.

  1. What an easy recipe! I used two 14.5 ounce cans of tomatoes ~ one plain and one w/jalapenos to give this a little zip. I did have to add about 3/4 cup of water, but other than that it turned out great. Will use the leftovers as stuffed peppers. Thanks for posting this Deb! Made for Fall 2009 PAC.
