Frozen Minted Lemonade

"We had a nonalcoholic "bar" at our corporate summer picnic this year, and this was one of the most requested drinks. People came back for seconds, thirds, fourths.... Some might like more mint than the recipe calls for and some might like less. Quick and easy, I blend it up right before dinner and it is really refreshing! (Add 2 oz. of Vodka or Rum and it is a fabulous cocktail as well!)"

  1. I liked this alot! I attempted to grow mint this year and I ended up with way more than I could use. This was a really delicious way to use some up! Very refreshing!

  2. It's already 90 degrees here. Don't get me wrong, I love Louisiana...other than the fact that the hot weather it's trying to kill me. Refreshing!

  4. This was recommended by Chef #336058. I used spenda and 1/4 tsp of peppermint extract and reduced it down to 3 servings. This made a yummy brunch drink for the two of us. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  5. Hey Mikey! He likes it! LOL! My kids loved it, surprisingly! I halved the recipe and made it this morning. Used 2 lemons and fresh peppermint leaves. So easy in the blender and it didn't leave any chunks. I might use more ice next time if I want more of a slushie. Going in the keeper file for summer. I put this into my book#234006.

I am originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota and moved to Ohio in 1978. It was quite a culture shock going from the city to living next to the Amish. I spend most of my time cooking, cleaning and caring for my four kids. I have abandoned cookbooks and now cook from favorite, wilted recipe pages and the internet. I fell in love with my Italian family recipes (Scavo, Rotella, Scalzo, Micelli, Grande, Gigliotti) and my Mom's homecooked meals.
