- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3 cups cored and chopped apples (1 lb.)
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
directions
- Cream butter and gradually add sugar.
- Add yogurt and egg and beat until fluffy.
- Combine dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.
- Add apples and nuts and mix until blended.
- Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch cake pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean.
