My sister's recipe that is great for casual parties.

ingredients
- 2 large onions (quartered)
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 3 -4 lbs boneless bottom round roast
- 5 cups water
- 1⁄2 cup soy sauce
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 1 clove garlic (Minced)
- 12 -14 French rolls (split)
- 2 cups shredded swiss cheese
directions
- Saute Onions in Butter till tender.
- Transfer to Slow Cooker.
- Cut Roast in half and place on top of Onions.
- Combine Soy Sauce, Water, Soup Mix and Garlic.
- Pour over Roast.
- Cook 7-9 hours on low.
- Remove Roast and let stand for 15 minutes.
- Thinly slice meat and place on Rolls.
- Sprinkle with Cheese and place under Broiler till Cheese melts.
- Serve Juice as a Dipping Sauce.

Wonderful! I didn't have any onions on hand, so I added a little onion powder. My roast was on the smaller side, so there was plenty of juice left... I'm freezing it to use next time, or as a soup base. The family requested that I make this again, and I have no doubt that it will be going into our regular menu rotation.Reply

This was so good! My boyfriend would not stop raving about how great it smelled all day! This was super easy to make, and the only thing I had to buy were the rolls! I didn't saute the onions first, and cooked it on high for about 6 hrs. The meat was flavorful and tender. I am really looking forward to left overs tonight!!!1Reply
