  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 3 tablespoons onions, diced
  • 12 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups French dressing or 2 cups Catalina dressing

  1. I made this to use up some homemade catalina dressing that was hanging out in the fridge. I just used cabbage (rather than the packaged mix). It was good and easy. My son didn't like it (but he doesn't like cabbage anyway, so no big surprise there).
     
  2. Great flavor. I've made this several times, today I have no red bell pepper, but want to make a few suggestions on my part. It does not take anywhere near that much dressing. I just go by sight, I hate real soggy coleslaw. I added a pinch of sugar, it's just a little too tart to me. And a little bit of salt, too. So, simple!!
     
  3. I love coleslaw and am always on the lookout for new interpretations. Using Catalina dressing is a great idea because it has the sweetness that makes a good coleslaw dressing. I didn't have green pepper and don't like raw onions, so I added some chopped tomato instead. Not a traditional coleslaw ingredient, but it worked well.
