Easy Sweet and Sour Pork Chops

"Being a busy single mom, I look for recipes that are quick, simple and don't have 100 ingredients. This one fits the bill to a T. I've served it to my picky parents and sisters who loved it and my 6 year old always asks for seconds (and even thirds at times)! Original recpie called for equal parts of wet ingredients, but I found it too salty and reduce the soy sauce slightly."

  1. Wow. What a fantastic recipe. Easy to make. I did thicken with cornstarch and had with rice. Terrific sauce. Will definitely make again. No1 Keeper. Thank you.

  3. I've made this a couple of times now and still love it!! I just had it for tonights dinner but didn't have any potatoes on hand. Instead I served this on top of rice with it's sauce on top. Excellent!

  4. We all liked this recipe. I actually thought it was a little too sweet, next time I will use less honey. In the last 10 minutes of cooking I added cornstarch to the sauce to make it a little thicker.

  5. I was looking for a pork chop recipe that was easy enough for a work night meal. This certainly fit the bill! Prep time was mere minutes. I did reduce the soy sauce as Freddym suggested, but think I would like to try to make a little on the "sweeter" side next time. I also took Freddym's suggestion and served the sauce over mashed potatoes. It was very good.

I'm a single mom of a soon to be 7 year old. I'm lucky that my son LOVES veggies - he'd rather have carrots than candy. I love to cook but don't get much of a chance to. So, when I do get to cook, I like experimenting. My friends often invite me over. They ask what I want to make - I give them a list of what I need and they buy all the ingredients and I do all the cooking. So, we all end up happy. Personally, I like good down home cooking. I remember watching my grandmothers cook and what I would give to have some of those recipes now.
