Easy Steak Marinade

"There is a small steakhouse in Murfreesboro, TN that has the most amazing steak marinade that I have not found ANYWHERE else! One day I asked my waiter if he would share some of the ingredients with me. After getting home I immediately began experimenting to see if I could re-create the flavor of THAT marinade while the taste was still fresh in my mind. This is what I came up with. I brush the marinade all over the steaks and place them in a vacuum-seal bag in the refrigerator a couple hours before I want to begin cooking. Delicious!"

• Yields: 6-8 round steaks

ingredients

• Dry

• 4 teaspoons salt
• 4 teaspoons paprika
• 2 teaspoons black pepper
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1⁄2 teaspoon basil
• 1⁄2 teaspoon turmeric

• Wet

• 1⁄4 cup red wine vinegar
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 2 teaspoons soy sauce
• 2 tablespoons ketchup

1. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together wet ingredients. Add dry ingredients and whisk to combine.
