Modified it a bit: 2 lbs tater tots 3/4 cup melted butter (all mixed in) 6oz can of fried onions, (no potato chips, no minced/chopped onion).. (half of fried onion mixed in. Then half for the top - during last 10 minutes of baking) 1/2 cup of premixed French Onion sour cream dip The entire 10.5 ounce can of mushroom soup 2 1/2 cups shredded cheese (no celery) ...and it was gone before everyone left the table!

We really enjoyed this recipe. The potato chips were so greasy, so the second time we made it we left off the chips, divided the cheese and put half of it on top. We cut the amount of butter in half because we added chopped roasted jalapenos and crumbled bacon. We also broke up the tots a little before mixing with the other ingredients. We liked that texture better in the finished dish. Thank you!
