- 1 lb ziti pasta (or other short tube pasta)
- 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
directions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet.
- Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasonings and drain.
- Stir in the jar of spaghetti sauce and 1 cup of chicken broth.
- Allow this to simmer while you cook the noodles.
- Cook noodles until al dente and then drain.
- Stir one cup of sauce into the drained noodles.
- Add 1/2 cup of sauce to the bottom of a 9×13 dish, and then pour in 1/2 of the noodles.
- Top these noodles with half the cheese. Repeat these steps with the remainder of the ingredients.
- Bake for twenty minutes covered at 350 degrees.
- Remove foil and bake another ten minutes.

My daughter loves ziti so I thought I'd try this recipe. I made it last night and she loved it. I did add more mozzarella cheese when layering the noodles and meat but otherwise stayed true to the recipe. I will definitely will make this again! Thanks for sharing this recipe. It's quick...simple and delicious!

Great baked ziti!! I did make my own sauce and had some cottage cheese that needed to be used so I through that in the first layering. I followed the rest as written, other than increasing the amount of mozzarella cheese. My DS and his friend had 2 helpings and then took the other half over to DD's the next day and her boyfriend had two helpings, so I would say it was a hit for my family. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made for Stars Tag Game.

My brothers and I thought this was a 5 star recipe. My dad said it was a 4 but that it could easily be 5 if it was made with Italian sausage instead of ground beef. I may have to try his idea next time, but I certainly wasn't disappointed with today's results! It lives up to its name - very easy. I substituted gluten free macaroni for the ziti and cut the amount of parmesan in half with excellent results. Thank you for posting! Reviewed for ZWT 4.

My teenager is the pickiest eater in the world, while my 3 year old will eat anything (though has been acting more and more fickle lately). Our newest addition was born in June 2008, so she doesn't really know much in the way of varieties of food. My husband says "I don't care what you fix, as long as it has meat in it."

I am (slowly) trying to go thru all the recipes I have saved and add them to 'Zaar, but this will take some time. I try to only post things that my family (or I) will eat (though I haven't necessarily yet tried every recipe I have posted).
