Digestive Tea

"This classic digestive tea will help alleviate bloating and trapped gas. Fennel seeds are sweet anise-flavored herbs long revered in Europe and Asia for their health benefits. The seeds contain phytochemicals, anti-oxidants, dietary fiber, alkalizing minerals (magnesium, zinc, potassium & calcium) and the vital vitamins, A, B and E. They also contain essential oil compounds that have digestive and anti-flatulent properties; and when ingested with ginger and peppermint, combine for a natural bloating remedy. Fennel tea is said to be great for nursing mothers with colicky babies. from Hail Merry"

  1. This was super simple to make and I really wanted to love this tea, but it was "my cup of tea". I think it is because I don't like fennel. I was really hoping that this would help settle my stomach, as chemo is making me very, very ill. I want to try this again after chemo though. Things that I normally really like seem to make me sick now and so I don't want to write this recipe off. Thanks for something a little new. Can't wait to try it again when I'm not sick anymore. Thanks Debbwl. Made for PAC Spring 2014.

  2. Normally, I'm not a great fennel fan, but it was actually okay in this tea. I only made 1 serving, and had to use regular mint (couldn't find peppermint anywhere). I really like ginger, and this made a nice tummy-soothing cup of tea! Thanks for sharing.
